Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 is known as the Fair Housing Act. The Fair Housing Act makes it illegal to discriminate in housing-related transactions based on race, sex, religion, national origin, color, families with children, or the disabled. Other statutes include, but are not limited to, Government Code § 12955 and Civil Code §§ 51-52.
