Lis Pendens

Lis Pendens

Lis pendens is Latin for "a suit pending." When a lis pendens is recorded against real property, it gives public notice that legal action is pending against the property. A lis pendens will impact any refinancing or sale of the property until the dispute has been resolved. Sometimes an owner can bond around the lien so complete any transactions involving the property.
