Zoning
Zoning issues are a minor part of the Davis-Stirling Act. Generally local zoning ordinances are construed to treat like structures, lots, parcels, areas, or spaces in like manner regardless of whether the common interest development is a community apartment project, condominium project, planned development, or stock cooperative. Civil Code §1372.

In addition, various provisions of the Davis-Stirling Act do not apply to commercial or industrial condominiums. The Legislature decided that residential developments needed more protection than commercial and industrial developments. Civil Code §1373.
