POOL SAFETY EQUIPMENT

No Lifeguards. If an association does not use lifeguards, it must have the following safety equipment:

  • a 17-inch minimum diameter life ring with 3/16-inch diameter throw rope attached that is at least as long as the pool is wide
  • a rescue pole at least 12 feet long with a body hook

Lifeguards. If an association provides lifeguards, it must have the rescue equipment described above and also provide:

  • a Red Cross 10-person industrial first aid kid (or comparable)
  • a telephone
  • a backboard and head immobilizer
