Residents do not have a federally protected right to drill through exterior common area walls to run cable from the patio into the unit. However, owners may install satellite dishes inside their own units.
Reasonable Rules. Associations can adopt reasonable rules to regulate any penetration of the common areas, including for bolts, cables, or other dish components to be installed.
