New Legislation and Case Law Affecting
Homeowner Associations

The INDEX on the left has new laws by the year they were enacted. Click on a link to see bills and case law for any given year.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. The Digital Democracy website tracks public hearings, money donated to politicians, new bills, and votes cast on bills. You can look up bill summaries, track their progress, and look up legislators.

ADDITIONAL RESEARCH. The Davis-Stirling Act was reorganized and recodified in 2014. Most of the changes were non-substantive. When interpreting an ambiguous part of the Act, check what the CLRC considered, especially if something changed. The main page for the study is: clrc.ca.gov/H855.html. The overview of all CID-related studies is: clrc.ca.gov/HCID.html. The primary text of the recommendation (2010): clrc.ca.gov/pub/Printed-Reports/Pub235-H855.pdf.
